BCI paradigms

Explore BCI with Unicorn Hybrid Black

Unicorn hybrid EEG electrodes

For a motor-imagery BCI the electrodes sit over the sensorimotor cortex, and a device is controlled by mental tasks such as imagining a hand or arm movement. For P300 paradigms the electrodes sit over central, parietal and occipital sites, and event-related potentials carry communication and control. With SSVEP and code-based VEP, high-accuracy BCI applications are built on visual stimuli.

Virtual reality

Control virtual reality with your mind

Hybrid electrode technology

Wet or dry: reliable recording either way

Unicorn Hybrid Black from the side, with its electrode leads

Unicorn hybrid EEG electrodes are made of a conductive material that records dry or with gel. Dry recording gives a quick, practical set-up; conductive gel can be applied for higher performance. The reference and ground electrodes are fixed over the mastoid bones for stable, accurate measurement.

Unicorn LED Bow

The Unicorn LED Bow holds 8 LEDs controlled through the Unicorn APIs: setting a digital output high turns an LED on, setting it low turns it off. For art installations, interactive projects and visual feedback in BCI applications.

Li-ion battery and better signal quality

The Unicorn circuit board, battery and electrode connections

24-bit ADC resolution and a high oversampling rate raise the signal-to-noise ratio for the best digitisation. A light, high-capacity Li-ion battery records for up to 3 hours and charges over USB.
